Raven, does it bloom like regular H. kerrii or are the flowers different? Sure is a pretty plant! Karen

Hey again Karen,

I'm pretty sure that the flowers are close to the same as the reg. kerrii, but I don't know for certain since mine hasn't flowered yet, I will post pics as soon as it blooms!!!

This looks exactly like the plant I picked up yesterday. Any special pointers - anything to watch out for?

Hey RUK,

I found that if I let the soil of mine dry out between watering that it would start to lose leaves, so when I started keeping it lightly moist all the time it hasn't dropped one leaf. It seemed to really like the heat and humidity in the greenhouse during the summer, so I guess my advice would be to keep it moist all the time, keep it out of the direct sun and give it lots of heat and humidity, pretty much normal for most hoyas! :O)

Well, yes and no Cliffff. You do have a hoya but its not Hoya kerrii. What you have is Hoya tricolor 'Krimson Queen'. You have a very lovely plant and its quite healthy. Its flowers are completely different from Hoya kerrii though. Here's a link to the plant which will show you its pictures, and any info you might want - http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/57703/

Thank you so much Christine.......I feel like a proud owner.....

And so you should Cliff.

If you want any advice on how to get addicted to hoyas, just visit the hoyas forum here. There are a few hundred differerent varieties of hoya ... If I'd only known then what I know now, I might be able to see out some of my windows...lol
