Hi gingerjar, Is this plant new to your garden? If so, in the next year or so it will look more like it's supposed to. It is classed as a uf (a different type of daylily form, like a spider), and the pictures on the tinkersgarden database will show you what you will see in the future. It will be great!

It is new to my garden. It came from California which I'm sure is the reason it's trying to bloom at such an odd time for Maryland. Several other buds opened even more poorly than this one. Thanks for your comments!

I like the color a lot!

Hey Ginagerjar. Did this daylily ever straighten up for you? I would love to see an updated picture!

I found one picture I've taken of it this year. Unfortunately it's in a part of our garden that is more susceptible to deer munching, so I often don't get to see all of its blooms. Guess I should move it, as it seems to be a very pretty flower.

Wow, I have never seen it with a huge edge like that! Of course, here without any humidity, we don't get much in edges anyways.
