Good Friday Morning!

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

It has been a quiet week here on the Canadian Forum. I hope everyone is happy, healthy and ready for a great weekend. Did you all vote in the Photography contest? Check it out under Extras and then Contests - 2004. There are some gorgeous snaps there that DG members have taken. My favourite single bloom shot was a dark colored Iris. I was surprised that no one entered a double Brug, or an inflight hummingbird shot!!! There are so many lovely ones posted on the individual forums????

Anyway, hope every one has a good day and TGIF!

Yes it has been a quiet week. Too quiet. Has everybody been caught DGing at work? Too busy looking at the phots's on the contest? That can take a lot of time. I've only finished looking at one category.

it just seems to have been a busy week.

Time to get back at what important, like playing on DG's, and getting dirty fingers playing in the dirt.

I can't seem to find the photo contest, can you post the link for me please? ( I know, some days I'm hopeless... ;) )

Go to Extras from your home page. The second one on list, Dave's Garden Contests, and 2004. That takes you to the list of categories.

It has been a very busy week all around it seems.

I had a quick look see at some of the pictures in the contest - WOW! There are some really amazing photographers out there! I'll have to give myself an hour over the weekend to really look at some of them and vote.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Christine.

I was so tired Thursday evening that I went to bed at 8:30...couldn't even think of turning on the computer. I'm just about to check out that photo contest; that Extras page has a lot of good stuff on it, eh?
Thanks for starting this thread, Donna. Hope everyone's having a great weekend too.

It was finally warm enough here to actually empty pots, dig glad corms, move stuff into the garage for winter, and generall do the beginning of october work. Between that and half my staff being sick in rotation, no time to play. Will see what next week brings.

Beautiful week here, until today. Raining again, but we had several days of sun and great to be outside weather. Someone is clearing 5 acres across the road from us, and the backhoe operator decided to have a bit of fun before he left. I love it!

Wednesday and Thursday mornings absolutely picture perfect. Out on the spreader at sunrise - makes me renew my vows to the prairie. There isn't anything more beautiful than the late fall/winter prairie sky as the sun breaks and casts that clear bright glow over everything sending just enough back light to turn the western clouds a soft mauve. At moments like that, I always feel a connection to those who have walked this land for centuries. And I think of a possible winter that stays like this - minus 10 in the a.m. just enough snow cover for the flora and not to much for the fauna. Sunny every day. Not too much wind. Oh my what have I been drinking? Enjoy the beauty of your zone whereever you find yourself.

Incredible sunrise here too. Although I enjoyed it from inside this morning. Through the branches of the birch tree.

Oh Lynn, thanks for bringing the prairie to us so vividly. That's wonderful.
