Hi, I am totally out of plastic baggies, seed packets, and glue sticks. Needless to say...running out of printer ink...LOL I have a lot of seeds I would like to offer for SASE. If anybody has any printer made seed packs, baggies, envelopes etc. to donate it would be deeply appreciated. I can do a SASE. Thanks so much!
Kim
Seed Packets and Baggies
I will send baggies with flax, also.
~* Robin
Kim, I can send you some of both... let me look around.
Baggies - as in sandwich zip lock? If so I can send some with SASE I'm mailing tomorrow.
Thanks..But Not actual sandwich ziplock bags. I'm looking for seed bags/envelopes...etc.
Kim I buy the ones at Wal Mart with 100 for .99. They are plastic and in the craft section. You can write on it with a marker, I use sticky labels to put on the outside of it, then when empty you can pull that off and reuse it.

Kim,
Maybe you could ask the people requesting the SASE to enclose the appropriate amount of baggies in order to fullfill their requests. I understand that it can become a burden if you send out so many at your own expense. If you ask the person that's replying to your generous offer(s) to send the baggies you won't have the added expense. JMHO

You can tell I'm a snipper/clipper instead of a seed saver. lol lol lol
Suzanne..Nice thought...But do you know what kind of trouble I'd be asking for???? ha ha ha. I hate to say it....But sometimes I barely get a note of which seeds. It would be a lost cause to ask to include something like bags. I'm cracking up here! ha ha ha. I know I know not funny. But I have done at least 300 SASE this year and can imagine how people mess it up? If I could afford it I would supply everything.
Hi Kim,
I'll get some out to you tomorrow. Do you need any more of the large labels I sent you also?
Jan...
Kim
I have zip lock baggies.
Ohhh Jan! You're soooo sweet..I have many labels left and they are really coming in handy. Thanks so much. Kaleem...It might be too costly for you to send. Thanks for the offer though :-D
There are no such things as really small baggies and padded envelopes under the size of 6x9..... this is a conspiracy, I know it is.
I covered a 70 mile circle from Memphis, TN to Tupleo, Ms to Jackson, TN and they were not to be found, therefore they do not exist.

I have gotten seeds in little packets that people made up from old seed catalogs too. They just taped it together.
Sandra
Hey Kim,
If you email me a list of the seeds you trade the most I will send you some really nice baggies for them.
Witch..That's a hard one..I think I SASE seed a little more then I trade them...Blank ones are good :-D
I started sending some seed evelopes I made with the SASE as gifts and you all are sending them back to me with my seeds in them lol. I have some really neat ones I have searched for and collected. I change there sizes to smaller or larger to. Most don't take a lot of ink. If you would like copies e-mail me from here your regular e-mail addy(not through Daves since I would only be able to send one at a time)) and I will send copies to you. example to follow

Ohhhh Ahhhhhh I really like the colored ones. I'll have to get some colored ink soon.
I want to learn how to make my own. Kim I have lots of them. I spent about a month searching and picking out the ones I liked best. Here is a link to some here on Daves http://davesgarden.com/files/seedpackets/

Well I have used the ones at Dave's. But I spend most of my time seed collecting and cleaning. When I'm bored I go pick seeds and sit in front of the TV and clean them...LOL. The seed packet making is a whole different story. I went through 2 glue sticks this week. They are time consuming too..Someone donated a 100+ baggies and I went through them in a week...LOL Just think...When I do my trades I always send a few extra surprises and with my SASE's so I go through them fast :-(
I cut out the printed seed packs in front of the tv but only put them together when i need them. It is time consuming to tape them together. If I used glue I would have more on me then the packs lol
I hate making the little paper ones...I did that for the longest time until I got tired of cutting and gluing. I just bought a box of 1000 1.5 x 1.5 in. baggies off eBay, which I'll probably be using for the next 10 years or so! They're the perfect size. Here's a link to their online store if you care to check them out. They're reasonable.

Thanks for the link stacy ! I am getting some !
Be prepared...I was expecting a medium sized box, but the box is actually 4 x 4 inches, stuffed!
Here is a sample of the way I like to make my own...I cut them out and they fit perfectly in the 2x3 baggies. Then there's no folding, pasting, filling out stuff, etc. That's what I like about them vs. the paper ones. The only thing is that you need to know what you need up front. Also the baggies aren't written on which means they can be reused indefinately.
I hope you don't mind I used your pic as an example...I don't have a camera so I don't have any pictures of my plants.
Just LMK...

Witch..I really really like those! They are perfect! I wouldn't have to do any labels...then I could just pop them in the plastic baggie with the seeds...which I love plastic. I really like those. Thanks so much! Now How do I get some more?...LOL LOL LOL
If you have Microsoft Word, you can just insert a table and make the cell sizes any size you want and then insert any pictures/text you like.
You can print on label paper to stick on envelope or plain paper to insert in envelope.
Jan...
My daughter has Microsoft in her room on her computer...Let me go wake her up! LOL LOL
Kim, am sending some packets your way, along with a couple glue sticks. Hope that helps...WZ
Those are great!
That is wonderful Gumlla
