Prepare Plants for Winter
Nice shots Perry. Thanks for sharing your pictures! We all have our own winter preparation to get through, some more than others. Fortunately you can bring a lot of yours inside for the winter. I don't-what can't stay outside all winter dies. I'm a cruel and heartless gardener. But my perennials are wonderful!!!
Great photos. Thanks for sharing. :D
What I would give for windows the size of yours! Wonderful pics Perry.
Hope you don't get too much snow! Have you dug out your shovels yet?
p.s.I wish we could grow gourds like yours here.

Lilypon,
I have snow-tires installed on the car, but haven't dug out shovels yet. Thanks for the reminder.
Here in Montreal, we plant bottle-gourd seedlings in the garden early June, The vines start to bear flowers in mid August. We get fruits from mid-August until late September. The young fruits are excellent in stir-fried dishes, and also good in soup.
If you would like to try, I can send you some seeds when those gourds in the picture dried up. We start seeds indoor about 3 weeks before frost-free date.
Thank you Perry I'd love to give them a try! :) Given that our fall comes a little quicker than yours maybe I should start them sooner and in a larger container? I'm thinking, when it comes to transplant time, I could cut the bottom out and set the plant and bottomless container in the ground with as little root disturbance as possible?!?
You have mail! :)
