Cancer strikes Shadowood

Deer River, MN(Zone 3b)

Hi All,

Yesterday was a particularly bad day. What my vet had assumed was and been treating as some form of pemphigus on my Bootsie dog for the last couple months has now been definitively diagnosed as canine cutaneous t-cell epitheliotropic malignant lymphoma - cancer. He's only seen four cases of this type of cancer in his practice (including Boots), and the last was two years ago. At that time, there was no effective treatment. He has a call in to an oncologist down at the main U of MN to see if there are any more promising treatments available now but hasn't yet heard back.

I've been doing some web research to find cutting edge oncology clinics with whom my vet can consult. If anyone here (Palmbob, your input would be particularly appreciated) can recommend an oncology specialist who may be able to provide useful consultation on Booters' condition, I would very much appreciate if you would post the contact info here.

My sweet old girl can use all the loving, healing energy anyone can send her way.

Thank you all,

Laurie

P.S. Bootsers is the white dog being used as a pillow by Tasha.
