I did something this morning that I rarely do but thought it was really a safe move. I upped my Neurotin from 100 mg. to 300 mg. My husband use to take it(labeled as Gabapentin and given by the VA doctors)and had a bottle of 300 mg. that he no longer was taking. I feel better this morning than I have in weeks. Actually, since I ran out of Vioxx and my doctor couldn't find an anti-arthritic med that medicaid will pay for. I asked for Celebrex but he doesn't like it and wants me to take Methamexatrate or something like that. I am leary of it because its most common side effects are problems I already have. I don't need more mouth sores, lung problems, or red & white blood cells & platelet troubles. One thing about this med is that it is only taken once a week for a 24 hour period. I just called and left a message for his nurse to have him order it for me. I called the pharmacy and found it will only cost me about $16 a month for the top doses which I don't really think I need. I'll just have to walk in faith that I will be one of the people who don't have side effects.
I just hope I can start losing again soon as I am beginning to feel rather fat and large even tho I've not gained a pound back. I've lost at least 2 clothing sizes which certainly makes me feel good. I am having to have my favorite clothes altered and giving away the rest. I also have lots of clothes from nearly 20 years ago that are now beginning to look fairly good on me. I really liked these outfits so I've just hung onto them all these years.
Anna, I'm thinking of you and praying you and your husband will do well. Actually I'm praying you both will come out on top as winners. You've certainly done a lot to get this far.
