H. phyllura aka clemensiorum

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

I bought this plant early spring of 2003. It has made quite a nice specimen but I can't find any info on it on the net. The little bit of info that I did find really wasn't that informative, just gave a brief flower color buff/red and described the leaves.
Does anyone have a pic of this hoya in bloom that they could post here? Last night I talked with the grower that I got this plant from in Florida and all she could tell me was that it has red blooms or at least that's what she thought.
Sorry I don't have a pic to post. I just got my camera software reinstalled into the computer and now am having trouble finding the pictures once I take them.

HI - I can send you a photo in a couple of days...

I have been told that the picture labeled H. clemensiorum on Ted Green's catalogue is not the hoya that David Liddle has as H. clemensiorum...and I go along with what David says. One way to tell is that on the back of the leaf, the costa (or midrib) is a deep red...almost purple. The older leaves also get very cardboardy feeling.

As for H. phyllura...I have also been told that it is not in circulation and that there are lots of "wanna bes' around as that.

As I have not done the research myself...I rely on the expertise of others like Chris Burton and David Liddle...

I don't have any flower pics, but here is a leaf pic of the clemensiorum that I got from Liddle's....

Okay the leaves on my supposed phyllura look nothing like the ones in raven-locks photo. My leaves also do not have the red or purple midrib as mentioned above so now I don't know what I have. I have a picture of this plant somewhere in this computer but am having one #$%^ of a time trying to find it. As soon as I can get my hands on it i'll post it up so maybe someone can help me identify this mystery plant.

There is a palmately veined imposter of H. phyllura also running around...which turns out to be H. cinnamomifolia. Is that what you have, catsmeow? The flowers are sort of a green with burgundy centers.

Carol the leaves on mine are all green. No signs of any other coloration in them at all and the veining in them is totaly different from the one that Ravven has posted above.

I think this plant is cinamomifolia. After leaving work today I visited the nursery that I bought mine from. I go about once every other week or so and guess what they had? A brand new basket of (H. Phyllura) for sale and yes it came from Witts nursery so my guess is it is also cinimomifolia.

I'm so glad that you posted that picture, now Monday I will check out what I have, I'll turn the leaves over. Thanks this was just great, I certainly hope I have the right plant to go with that name. Norma
