Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

ruthm,

I know exactly where Dayton is. My friend Freda had a floral and gift shop in Dayton, Keds Creations. But she had to close down. There were too many business of that type in Dayton for her to make any money. I visited her many times while she was working. I also have a friend in Dever, she is a Dave's Garden member now.

Send me your pictures. I can ID them for you. No problem.

prudence,

Variegated Reed Grass is arundo donax.

I'll post some photos. Here is Firespike.

CountryBumkin,

I do like alot of common stuff too. I collect firespike. I now have a pink bloomer, a red bloomer and a variegated leaf one. Looking for purple...or other colors.

I also collect shrimp plants, I have a yellow, fruit cocktail, white and the common red.

I collect clereodendrums, but think I have all of them now.

But with my philodendrons I usually like to trade for something variegated or an aroid I don't already have. Most of the ones I have collected over the years have been bought at a dear price and that plants gets even more expensive if I had to buy it twice because I KILLED the first one. LOL. I've been collecting for 5 going on 6 years. I'm pretty serious about my collecting. My list of wants is huge but hard to find, so I find that I have to buy what I want. Very few times do I find something I want in another persons collection. LOL.

I am looking for new brugs, like that double pink I just saw or a the red Kell has. I have a problem that has no twelve step program. LOL.

I'm interested in your kalanchoes,
K. be-harotii
K. marmorata
K. boughtonii "pink teeth"

My trade list is updated but I will email it to you.

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

GSkinner

Looking forward to getting your list.

Dayton, TX(Zone 9a)

do you have your Kalonchoe pictures somewhere? I would love to see them. Maybe I could identify mine or at least see if I have some that you don't have or some that you want.

Dayton, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh, I forgot to say that I visited that store a lot. I bought balloons there. It is a resale shop now. But the new Vinyard flower shop sure looks interesting. They quadrupled their size and now carry clothing and more gifts. It is by the old Dayton state bank drivethru. They made it look like and old store front with white limestone. Let me know if you are coming to Dayton. I live about a block away from there. We can swap some stuff. I can't get it all in my greenhouse.

Flowerjunkie
You should post pictures of your kalanchoes on the PDB!
They don't have pictures of many of the ones you have.

Hi Ladies,
I have one chinese evergreen plant called emeral beauty, ready to send out, if anyone would like it. I have no idea how common this is or if anyone would be interested. My husband brought it home as a thank you from a client last year and it has "produced" some "babies". So if anyone wants this little orphan you are welcomed to it.

Shellsort: Could your Kalanchoe be K. 'pinnata'? Check out these photo's in Plant Files:

http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/68271/

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

It could be but Kalanchoe be K. 'pinnata' grows tall and this kind stays very low to the ground. It is strange. I haven't seen it flower yet. I am sure that when it does it will be easier to ID. Here is another pic of the babies growing off of the leaf.
