Does anyone have experience with cushings?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

A foster that I picked up this weekend is being tested for cushings. He has all the symptoms. BIG belly, it looks like someone blew up a volley ball in his belly. Excessive thirst (can drink a gallon a day) Is VERY incontinent from both ends. He was a transport for a high kill shelter in Ga. He was suppose to be a youngish doxie mix that was a little over weight, this is what we were told. Youngish my big toe! He's about 8 years old and is in poor health.

He was at the vets today and the blood test will be back tomorrow. If it shows positive, he'll see a specialist.
My concern is that this little guy is too far gone to be helped. His quality of life sucks. It breaks my heart to watch him pee all over himself and can't stop it. He looks so embarrassed. He also has non-stop diarrhea,
I wonder if he can be helped? I refuse to aid in keeping him alive for the sake of a rescue. I never would have agreed to take him if I new he was this ill. It makes me SO mad that he was stuck in transport for days on end when he was in this type of shape.

My other foster from the same transport has Sarcoptic mange (I've caught this before and it is HORRIBLE) and a cherry eye. LOL...... The fun just never stops.
Actually we new he had cherry eye. He's a pom doxie mix. The cutest little thing I've ever seen.

Thanks again for all the help....
Kristi
