Aha, I was wondering where these were blooming so beautiful. I will look for some of these. I bet these with some coreopsis shading its feet would be beautiful or any thing yellow for that matter.

I just got one of these home and decided to double check it. Mine is a really big flower but definately lavender. Think it's wrong?

They have a big flower , and sometimes my camera takes things a tad too blue,
but if it was next too a purple Clematis it would look very blue, with white stamens

Can you take a pic of yours.

I bought what I believe is an Ernest Markham clematis two years ago, and it climbed the side of my deck (12'). It is so beautiful with velvety burgundy red flowers with creamy centers that I decided to get another, but found the store only had the H.F. Young clematis. I bought three and am planting them tomorrow (1 qt. containers). I live in NYC and would appreciate hearing from anyone in this area whose had success with this plant,. I need this plant to climb. Wish me luck!
