Catalpa Tree Seeds

NEW CUYAMA, CA

I have plenty of Catalpa Tree seeds and will trade for any seeds that you have. I will send you about 25 seeds for the same amount.

Catalpa Trees love lots of water during their first few years. They can survive with less water but the tree doesn't grow as big and if it dies back, it will bush out, grow alot slower and will not flower.

Is it this one?

I have some pink magnolia tree seeds drying right now.
The tree looks to be very much like this:
Saucer Magnolia, Tulip Tree (Magnolia x soulangiana)
http://davesgarden.com/pdb/go/2452/index.html
The tree is 30 years old, and set seed for the first time this year.
It belongs to a woman who has lived there for the past 15 years.
The flowers are beautiful but the pods are downright spacey looking.
I'll find some pics of it on my computer later.

And other seeds too.
I'll email you.

A little hint here for you all wanting to grow the Catalpa tree seeds, I found out that if you just lay the papery seed pod on TOP of the soil, it doesn't rot and germinates much faster!!! I have had much success this way, it sends out a teeny feeler like root and it shoots down in the soil, a little while later the seedpod is standing up and growing, too neat!!

This will be my first time making the attempt of trading first.
I am willing to trade for anything, I don't mind since I have tons of Catalpa Tree Seeds.
Like I said 25 seeds per trade; is that fair?
Please email me personally and I can keep up much better that way; thanks everyone.
I will try to get back to everyone on a timely manner once I get some organization.
I will put these inside of a size 10 envelope and not a bubble envie since they are such flat seeds. Maybe you could also do the same, I know that if the envie is too thick then you may have to add an additional 12 cents per 37 cents, anyone familiar with that?

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

FYI - On another thread a person made the point that unless an envelope is thick, as in bubble pack, or wrapping, the envelope is processed via machines which mashes the seeds. I do believe she is correct.

Ok sounds like bubble envelopes will work for the bulkier seeds, am I wrong at thinking that the Catalpa Tree Seeds will go through just fine, any suggestions?

I could use some kind of wrap to protect them in the size 10 envelope.

Now that I get to thinking...I should try and see what the Post Office says with 25 flat seeds in size 10 envelope, I think they might survive the machines and maybe not and your probably right.

So I should invest in some bubble envelopes........
