She is too is finally blooming and quite pretty, although very different from my other brug blooms. Seems that the "big push" is happening in my garden right now LOL!
Does anyone grow Candida Pink?
She is really pretty Gretchen.
She is beautiful Gretchen.
I sure don't but she looks so shapely! I wish we could see their summer colors!
It occurred to me that the blooms in my seedling gardens are telling me nothing now. The flowers are smaller than normal and the colors are way off. I have to see them all next summer to really decide if they live or die.
Wow! Its beautiful Gretchen!!
I have never grown it, but it's a beauty.
Oh, that is a beauty, Gretchen - have to keep my eye out for that one next year -

Thank you all!!! Its one that I haven't seen around, that's why I wondered if anyone else was growing her, and if not, why? She's a nice tall tree with very large dark velvet green leaves. Unfortunately the cats love her (all my velvet leaved brugs). Can't wait to see more blooms.
I have this one growing but I've never seen her bloom. Your pic is really pretty! The cats also love my velvet leaf brugs and it drives me crazy! LOL I understand about your garden being in that 'big push'.....that is what is going on here too! Pretty brug Gretchen!
Brinda -- this one was a slow grower for me. She's pretty tall -- about 6 1/2', and just finally y'd about a month ago. Its so fun to see everything all in bloom at once! Wish it was like this all the time!!!!!!
I finally got one Gretchen but didn't get to see any blooms thanks to Ivan. Maybe next year. Yep mine was growing real slow too.
I'm sorry, Donna! I hope you have a good winter -- you certainly deserve it!!! Do you still have your plant?
Pretty pink! Nice recurve too!
Wow,that is so pretty
Yes Gretchen I have the plant. I just cut all my good ones back and sent them to Tx for safe keeping. That way they don't get all up rooted and if they would have been damaged I would have backs up from another friend rooting all the cuttings for me
What a beauty Gretchen!!
Very pretty!
Lovely Gretchen !! I love the soft pink but exspecially the shape of the bloom.
Thank you all!!! She's so pretty, I was just surprised that more people don't grow her. Donna, I'm glad that you still have her!
That's it, Gretchen, go ahead and MAKE me want ANOTHER one! Didn't you just do that to me with Melon Kisses? Actually, I had a cutting of Candida Pink several years ago that didn't root, and I keep thinking that I want it until I look out at all of the plants that will HAVE to come inside very soon. Now that I see a good picture of the flower, and you say that it doesn't look like everybody else (big sigh), I guess it will have to go back on my wish list!
Ronna...wish it had been me, but I don't have Melon Kisses--yet! LOL!!! But, I do like this one, because it is so different from everything that I have... Glad I took all the pictures when I did -- we had a storm last night that shredded most all the blooms :(
Lovely bloom. I have this one but it is small and hopefully I will see it bloom next spring.
I hope yours will be as much worth the wait as mine was :)
Gretchen, I purchased Candida Pink cuttings from Nestor on Ebay last Fall, but all the cuttings died. I purchased a Candida Pink plant from B. Hayward this Spring, but mine has stayed short and has small velvet leaves. The leaves are much smaller than most brugs. Wonder which one is the real Candida Pink? Mine hasn't bloomed, so I have no idea what the blooms look like. I sure do like yours though.
Thank you, Sylvia! This is a Nestor brug. The plant is nearly identical to my Candida Double White (which never bloomed), except that the pink has slightly darker colored leaves. But, what do I know??? I looked in the ABADS and BGI galleries and can't find a good picture of the leaves or the flower for that matter! Guess we'll have to wait and see what yours looks like when it blooms :)
