In Person Trade Anyone?

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

Hi you guys! Many of you probably know me as Casper (GardenGhost) from GW. After several friends invited me, I finally agreed to come and patronize Dave's. I see a lot of familiar faces. Hi ya!

I'm wondering if anyone lives close enough to do an in person trade with me. I live in Jonesboro, AR, about an hour from Memphis, 2.5 hrs from Little Rock. I have all kinds of extra plants, and even if you don't have plants, we could still trade. I'm always looking for bamboo canes, wood-burned signs for my paths and special gardens, gardening books, Donna Dewberry and Bob Ross books, videos and paint supplies, DVDs to add to my collection, lawn furniture, garden tools, and just about anything else I can use in my home or garden. A few of the things I have to trade are:

Running ee's
Illustris ee's
White Butterfly Ginger
Chameleon Plant
Mondo Grass
Vinca minor
Vinca Major
Obedient Plant - Lavendar
Limelight Artemesia
Redbud trees - if you'll dig them. They're only 2 yrs old, but already 5 ft tall
Cannas:
Richard Wallace
Florence Vaughn
Red Stripe
Orange Beauty
Primrose Yellow
Possibly others
Naked Ladies - Lycoris Squamigera
Irises - Two tone heirloom violet and others
Chocolate Mint
Apple Mint
Spearmint
Grape Hyacinths
Assorted hostas
Yellow four oclocks
Yellow Flag Iris
Acorus
Water Plants
Various sedums
Creeping Jenny
Cuttings of:
Coral Flame Honeysuckle
Wine and Roses Wiegelias
Chinese Fringe Flowers (Lorapetalum)
Blackie Potato Vine
7 Sisters Rose
Daylilies:
Peach
Red (Crimson Pirate or Sammy Russell)
Small Lavendar
Happy Returns
Xmas Day
Blackeyed Stella
Apricot
Large Ruffly Peach
Other perennials
Other Tropicals and Houseplants

For plants, I am primarily looking for named daylilies and cannas that I don't have, as well as named hostas, toad lilies, elephant ears I don't have, and anything a bit unusual.

Does anyone live close enough? I'm sure you'll find other things you'd like to have that I can spare when you get here. I have so much in pots, waiting to go in ground and I'd love to share my abundance.

Hello Casper,
This is a kind, generous and loving crew, here on DG. Wonderful folks! There are forums for just about anything you can imagine, too...recipes, crafts, thrifty living, individual types of plants! Members have a wealth of knowledge and they help all of us to grow beautiful plants. There is even a place where traders can leave feedback! Dave works hard to see that things remain positive and upbeat--and it shows! :-)

Hope you find some great trades!

Hey NancyAnn,
Welcome to DG! You will love it here--alot of wonderful, caring, and great gardeners. Glad you came and joined us. I wish I lived just a tad closer. I would love to see your gardens and share plants with you. I am sure there are some of the our DGers near you. :)

hi Nancy Ann, how are you doing?? Did you have your surgery? I like it a lot better here than at GW. I think you will too.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Woooo, I see a few familiar faces! A few old friends and possibly some new friends too! Thank you for making me feel at home already!

Hi Twyla, it's good to see you here. I've been told that this place is much warmer and less arbitrary than the other place.

I see my good friend, Donna, here. Donna has kept me sane over the past months while dealing with health issues. The doctors had me all worried that I had both breast cancer and cervical cancer. I was a basketcase, understandably. Donna sent me this vibrant metal peacock for my gardens a couple months ago. It arrived on the same afternoon that I found out I didn't have breast cancer. I consider it my "survivor" peacock. LOL

Hi Sandra! Good to see you here. You'll have to make a point to come to our Butterfly Convention I'm hosting in June. We're planning it around the Master Gardener's tour of gardens. So the convention (plant swap) will be a weekend event. We'll tour gardens and nurseries on Sat, and on Sun, we'll swap, if we can wait that long. Should be a great Shindig!

To answer your question, no I never had the surgery, and I'm not sure I will. The herbs I've been taking has completely gotten rid of the symptoms from the gynecological problem. And I can't afford surgery and don't qualify for any of the programs available. Also, I discovered that all the pain and fatigue I've experienced for over a year now is a kidney infection!!! I'm on my second round of antibiotics now. And I have to tell you, I feel GREAT!!! OMG, I feel brand new!!! It's absolutely incredible!!

I wasted the whole summer feeling like [deleted] and just lying around, depressed, in constant pain, and so exhausted, all because I needed antibiotics. If you'll remember, I asked the doctors to test me for a kidney infection but they were too excited about the gyne problems, and they wouldn't discuss anything else until I got the problems taken care of. Idiots!

But now, I am ME again!!! You can't imagine the difference a few pills have made! I have been going non-stop for a few weeks now. I built an atrium attached to the side of my house and put a pond in it and have it all landscaped with tropicals. I've completely redone the patio area. And I'm still going! So much to do and we have great weather too! about 80 degrees today!

So Sandra, how's your back?

The rest of you, it's nice to meet ya. Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Hey Weeds,

I am planning a trip to ST. Augustine FL around Christmas. I'm going with my son and his girlfriend to meet "the in-laws". LOL What part of FL are you in? Are you close enough to St. Augustine for a visit?

Bouyant, huh? I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not. Ummmm, we all know what floats. LOL

Yes we do, Ivory Soap!
I am in Panama City, you might go near us?

Hello NancyAnn, Welcome to DG's!! You will love it here. In no time DG's will be your homepage... ;)) The folks here are great!

I am not very far from you. I am in southern Misouri and go through Jonesboro when we go down to MS to visit relatives there. Have been right through your town many times.

I am very interested in any iris, daylilies, or lilies that you may have. There are several other things on your list that I also would like to trade for. I don't have a large inventory of plants as I am just getting started, but I do have a few things and perhaps we could work out trade for other things as well.

I am sending you mail.

Again, Welcome to DG's and Happy Gardening,

Starr

Ripley, MS

My back is doing well, Judy has multiple ruptures now, I am taking her to Memphis Wed for a nerve block. The neuro want her to have this to see which one to do the surgery on. She is in terrible pain and still trying to clean houses. She has been hobbling along for about 3 months now. It takes so long to get anything done these days. I know what she is going through.
I am glad you are feeling better. It is so hard being sick in the "gardening season"--lol. How is kelley? Have you heard fromher lately? Pat is here at Daves, and every once in a while I see a post from Kat, Kathy Ann is here too. It is just a nice place.

Hi Sandra, I'm glad you're feeling better. But I'm sorry Judy is in so much pain. I hope y'all can get her squared away by June. I'd love to have you at the little Butterfly Convention a group of us are having.

I talk to Kelley often. She hosted a plant swap in May which was a lot of fun. She and her husband started a new blues band and they stay so busy! They're looking at moving to Clarskville TN. She'll be closer to you and me then.

Hi Starr, I'd love to meet you the next time you're coming thru my area. Just holler at me.

Thanks again everyone for the welcome!
