Possibly buggy hollyhock seed

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

I think I have notified everyone to whom I have sent hollyhock seed, but need to be sure. This evening while putting seed in envelopes I found some critters in one of the bulk baggies. They appeared,as close as I can guess,to be black weevils. All seed was screened through 1/8 inch mesh and hand picked but it looks like some got through. If you get any of my Alcea seed please check to see that there aren't any hitch-hikers in it.I do apologize if there are any problems with it.Robert

Robert.

You can put all of your seed in a cookie tin with 2" of a cat or dog flea collar. That will get rid of any pests in the seed. April

If you don't want to use chemicals put them in the freezer for a couple of days in a plastic bag.

Thank you for the tips. For the 5 remaining colors I think putting the zip-lock bags in the freezer will be the best solution.
