Marrakesch tonight

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

This is a first ever bloom for me. It's just opened and I'm looking forward to seeing a little color.

Very nice Brinda...isn't it exciting to see your first bloom. I have had less than a dozen blooms and I get excited with each one of them! It's really wonderful! Please post a photo when it changes color.

Your first Marrakesch, not first brug right? I remember great L'A blooms!

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Yes Kell, first ever bloom on Marrakesch! Sorry....LOL! Yep L'A is a fav of mine and must have 40 or more blooms getting ready now.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks for reminding me, Brinda. I am supposed to be out pollinating my L'A this morning. Time to get up from this chair. I have tons of blooms also but mine are winter pale. I do not know why I bother, none will work at this late date.

Post your 40 blooms!

Brinda...after replying above...I went on to see your posts with your loads and loads of brug blossoms! Huh !!!
I know I had that one on my wish list, but right now can't remember how it will look when mature! So, please post a photo!

Congratulations on getting her to bloom! LOL Mine was cut up and sent out this year... she was so darn picky. I was watering her 2-3 times a day, and she was in the ground.
Ya did good!!!!

Shelley, Marakesch is a shy bloomer. She didnt even perform well for Mme Blin, which lives in a much milder climate than I do.

Marrakesch is very pretty but, I really don't think it's something that I will keep. Especially now that Monika says that she is a shy bloomer. I have a SnowCone in the ground that has been blooming her heart out all summer.

I just checked on her and the blooms are still white. And they are browning around the edges. After just opening last night, I didn't expect that this soon.

Monika do you know the parentage on her? I think the correct spelling is Merrakesch.

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

There seems to be a difference of opinion on how to spell this... ABADS has it listed as "Merrakech" instead of "Marrakesch". http://www.americanbrugmansia-daturasociety.org/Merrakech.jpg Does it get much color? I received a cutting of this one (thanks Shelly!) that is growing well so far... I'll see how it does for me next year.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Brinda, I know exactly how you feel, the ONLY, named one I will keep, with exception of two beautiful, fragrant, unknown pinks, is my Culebra (if I spelled it wrong, whip me 100 times with a wet noodle, okay, LOL). Culebra might be slow, but, here in south Arky, she does NOT succumb to our steamy, (((HOt))) weather and, she is bug resistant, a BIG plus!!! I cannot fathom what her blossoms might look like...

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

LOL good luck Tom!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The correct spelling is Marrakesch because she was named by a german tourist. It is (probably) a natural hybrid but we can not be sure of it because Brugmansias are imports in Africa. The hybrid is named after the city of Marakesch (german spelling) in Africa.

Sherrylike, Some info for your Culebra ...........

I did not like it ... gave it away to one of the guys at work. He is excited, it is getting a bud on it.
