Hey I didn't even know you could start clematis from seed. What is the germination technique?
jagonjune, Sorry I can't help you on this...from somewhere I had seen that the seed it to be sown in the fall..Even at this ,maybe the principale only applies to certain ones.
It be better to bring it up into one of the other forums.

Ginny plants clematis in Jan. just like any other seed. Plants are large enough to set out by May/June. I built a fence in YWG and am busily growing clematis all along all the fences. Also grow them up roses and trees. You need wire around trees but loose so tree bark isn't hurt.
