Heres my thoughts on this little wonder. I killed three, leaves getting thin and I by accident soaked one over night and killed it and the ones growing in potting soil would get thick leaves then thin.Well I figure what can happen? I transplanted three into orchid mix adding sponge rock.Well I started noticing new growth? On a closer look yep all three started sending out these little vines.Well my growing medium is cocanut chips, carcoal and sponge rocks and thats it.They get watered everyday and I make sure to let the water run threw for at least a minute with superthrive.I know my growing conditions are different so do you think in high humidity ares use no soil and in low humidity ares use soil?I put one of them in a clay pot and it has already attached itself to the pot.How do you guys grow your Curtisii's?
Dianne
Hoya Curtisii
In basically your same mix, Dianne, and shady..damp. I left one out in the rain and it just melted!!! Literally. The whole plant covers the pot like a lid, so I have little need to water alot...because the medium stays moist. I also grow them up slabs of tree fern that I have to keep wet...and they grow like mad!!!
Mine is growing in regular potting soil, hanging under an oak tree. Only gets water when it rains and is loving every minute because it is about 4' long.

We grow ours in regular cactus mix, 60% pumice, 20% wash coarse construction sand and 20% forest mix (Oak leaf), or orchard bark. They love it in full 4" pots ready for sell for $15.00 thas is what we are getting for them here. I think I put four small plants in each pot, and they are really growing, In May I only had 3- 4" pots full, now I have 25 - 4" pots full. They are growing like mad. I guess it must be the season for them.
