hi,
wow what a beautiful bloom!!! ??? do they reproduce rapidly???? do they get taller than 18"? i know with liliums, they often will say 3-4' and for sure the first year they are, but as the bulb matures & the years go by, a lot of them will double there height.

also i just found this bulb through our classified ads here at dave's. being sold by the bulbmeister.

Hi Debi and Franklin, I've only had them for a few years.............this will be the 4th year that they'll bloom, so I can't answer all of your questions. They are reproducing slowly, with a few more blooms each year, and bigger blooms, but so far not any taller.

Thanks for letting us know where else to buy them.

I have found one of these beautiful plants. Its leaves are strap-like, light green with a dark stripe down the center. It has finished flowering and may have seed, although in its first year here, it may not produce viable seed. I grow Hippeastrums from seed germinated by the floatation method and have a few one year old and two year old bulblets. In South Africa we call this plant the Flamingo Amaryllis. When I have had the film developed (sorry, no digital images) I will post a picture.
