Maya is getting ready to bloom
Maya
I'd say! Wow!
The thumbnail made the plant look silver. I had no idea what it was. LOL
Darn. I did have a lot of bud drop right before our first frost. Had more that stayed on though. I hope your buds stick long enough to show you a beautiful flush of flowers.
Should I move it in the gh? We're supposed to be back in the 80s by week end. Gets cool at night tho.
I wouldn't move it if no chance of frost. That would just mean one more change the plant would have to adjust to. If it isn't broke...don't fix it. LOL! Now, if the weather man says chance of frost....I'd be running for the hills with that pot.
Nice plant! My Maya is blooming now for the first time, too. I have noticed bud drop from some of my other brugs - Cypress Gardens, Pink Beauty, and Dr. D. - but so far Maya is holding up. I think bud drop is normal during times of temperature stress (either hot or cold weather) so don't worry about it.
Thats awesome !
Maybe a few will hold on. Looks like just a few more days and I'll have blooms.

I think Maya likes it cooler than other brugs. Last year I brought my tree in and the poor thing dropped every leaf it had and did it fast. I thought it was going to die.
I left a few out in the winter and they did great.
Linda yours is so sweet. They grow fast and are an easy brug except for the caterpillars will eat it naked over night!
I am going to post some pics of mine later that I took tonight as I got out of my car. It was amazing. In full flush!
Kell, do you recognize the green ribbon? Thank you LindaSC
LOL Linda. I had forgotten I sent you this one and forgot I used ribbons! Amazing how the color of ribbons stays!!! I may use ribbons to color code the tops of my brugs as far as which I keep, which can go, and which have not flowered!
I posted a pic of this ones Mom last night. She suckers so regularly. I have them all over my yard.
I wonder if you will get a buff color or a tangerine like I get.
Linda, that is BEAUTIFUL, looks silver, so different, really pretty. I lost my Maya, the only one, thus far that I've lost, just made me sick. I cannot wait to see yours bloom.
Yes, I've started using ribbon to mark the ones that I want to keep. I saw the picture you posted last night - just gorgeous. I should see what color mine are by this week end, I'm so excited. Do you have a problem with the buds dropping off or is it because I'm getting some cool nights? LindaSC
i would like to know too. i experienced bud drop with my snowbank last year (around this time) and also with my unknown-maybe-CG/DS about a month ago. almost all the buds dropped off and the buds were at different stages of maturity. i was looking over an old abads newsletter and there was an article on bud drop. i think it said the increase in water/humidity caused it. but i don't know how to control that when it's outside.
How is she doing Linda?
I haven't had any problem yet with bud drop, but I have when I have changed the environment suddenly. How frustrating!
Not bad at all!! It looks great!
Just lovely, Congrats!
Linda, that is so pretty and so healthy!! Boy, I wish I could have just one like yours, where the majority of the blooms, bloomed at the same time! It is just beautiful, and unbelievable for such a little one...
Thanks, this is it's first flush. It, also is one of the ones that received the 'Messanger' treatment. Wonder if that had any thing to do with it? There should be a few more open tomorrow. About 10 or so buds have fallen off.
