i am not the quilty one!!! i just grew them, all u nice folks ask me for the seeds. LOL Pam!!! here is the mother of that baby http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=667525 Pam the flower need to mature 1st before it sets pod.

here is the original thread http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/400807/ i can't wait to see results of other seeds i sent out last year. hope they all come true from the mother plants.

unfortunately, i did not plant any datura this year, i got sick of seeing cucumber beetles taking over the yard. somehow, the cuke beetle's population this year is small compared to previous years. i hate those cuke beetles cuz they ruin the brugs bloom. next year, i will try to find an area in the yard to grow daturas in.

if any of u are to grow any datura next year, be sure to plant them far and away near the brugs. those cuke beetles are hard to control, and their population is uncontrolable [if there is such word LOL!] the cuke beetles loves daturas and creates lots of damage on leaves and blooms of brugs. anyone else observe this?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I had cucumber beetles really bad last year and barely had a good looking bloom. This year I tried Talstar when I saw the first beetles and it did it. They were gone until about the last of Sept. when some showed up again. I sprayed the plants in the yard and they didn't bother them. There was a little damage in the garden, but at least I didn't have them by the hundreds like I have had in the past.

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

The flower is more beautiful in person. Thanks all on the comps :) .....

Big hugs to you (((((MVR)))))!

MVR, here is the triple yellow from the seeds you sent....another beauty. I have another but it is not blooming right now...it is a creamy colored (yellowish/tan) single.

Glad you blasted those buggars Shirley! I have not had a problem with the beetles but the little green worm instead. Does anyone know if it would be safe to spray the Dats with Neem?

Try something like this for the worms. It will get them permanently and it isn't expensive.

OH NO ... a new plant to hybridize!!! LOL. And so pretty!!

I sprayed my brugs with a systemic ortho product and that did in all the cucumber beetles also Brugie!

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

oh Yes Kell !!! that is the only way u can achieve the purple flowers u want/need. at least be glad purple works on daturas and not brug. i wonder why it never works on brugs? maybe Tonny or Kyle can shed more of their insights.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I grew that cross, but have not had a bloom like that. I was a little late getting them started and have lots that have not bloomed.
