Mexican sage

Bethel, OH(Zone 6a)

I have two small mexican sage plants that I had to bring in my home to keep them from freezing. I was wondering how can I keep these plants alive during the winter. I only have one window in my kitchen and it is filled with plants. My question is, will these plants grow real good under a grow light. I have them in my mud room under a grow light.

Auburn Hills, MI(Zone 6a)

I would think they would be fine under the lights, I would try there for a while and keep checking,, if they start to look bad just exchange one in the window for the sage..

I hope this helps,

Salvia Leucantha (Mexican bush sage) goes dormant in the winter so don't be suprised if they die back. In our climate (Zone9) we normally cut them back to the ground in early winter or late spring. They will grow more and larger each year. Mine grow 4 to 5 ft. high and after a heavy rain they flop onto the ground. Thats when I cut them back.
