Datura Cream and Sugar

Does anyone know what species Datura Cream and Sugar belongs to?

I believe it's a Datura metel cultivar.

I got some seeds from Brinda last fall of Cream and Sugar and grew them this year - but as the summer wore on I had a really hard time distinguing the Cream and Sugar from the Triple white I had growing right next to it. I actually wondered if the close proximity of the plants could have caused a cross pollination of the flowers making them all look the same. Don't know if that is actually possible :-)

Perhaps Brinda can clarify how this variety is different than the triple whites.

Diane, I don't have any idea! LOL I have a triple white and also one labeled 'Cream & Sugar' even though I think they must both be the same plant. Sometimes the C&S will have a creamier look to it though.

It is difficult for me to remember. I had plants this year from seeds, but none of them bloomed. Our weather was so different this year. We had so much rain in the spring that it seemed to keep them from growing. They love the heat so much. I'm planning to try again next year. The only dats I had bloom this year were Wrightii and Black Currant Swirl.

Brinda - Gosh we may never know the "truth" about cream n sugar then, huh? LOL It doesn't matter really it grew and bloomed beautifully. I had trouble the first half of the summer with all my Dats looking stunted and sickly (our Spring in CT was wet and cool too), but boy that turned around when I started using Messenger in late July..oh dear..don't get me started on that again...LOL

All in all I grew 17 Dats this year - all from seed and they all bloomed. I especially loved the triple yellow and my quad/triple purple - I only saw one actual quad bloom on that tho - the rest were doubles and triples.

I had gorgeous blooms last year. Here is a pic of a quad (or more) from last year.
