Seed pods or slow growing flowers or???

Boulder Creek, CA(Zone 9a)

My "Peaches and Cream" never made flowers! I tried everthing for 2 years. Then someone told me to remove the plant, put some ORGANIC bonemeal on the bottom, and replace the plant. I did. I soon got two huge lovely flowers. Now I have these odd looking "growths" that appeared and are just stagnating. They look like long tubular beans or pods. At first I thought they might be flowers coming on, but that has not happened. They also seem to point up, and flowers hang down. See the pictures. My other brugs never got these. Thanks.

They will eventually hang lower as they age. This will not bloom for a while though. But .. YIPPEE , ya finally got buds.

The bloom buds on Versicolor brugs do start out pointing up and with age will lay over and hang down to bloom. Those are some really long buds. I hope they bloom and you can get a picture for us to see. Cool looking plant with all those buds.

Wow! Congratulations! Please post pictures when they bloom!

I hear P & C is a slow grower. Maybe that is the reason for your lack of blooms for so long. How long ago did the plant Y? They are sure skinny but I have a seedling that has similar buds. Are they striped?

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

They do look skinny, but if you look through one when there's sun on the other side, you can see how far down the flower is. You can see in the picture you posted. It'd be interesting to see the flower. Keep us posted.

I did get flowers, two: a few months ago. Now it is cool and the plant gets very little direct sun. I am at the bottom of a hill in the redwood forest. Could I bring them inside? Warmer indoors, but could be under a skylight. ??? That is if my wife will allow a little furniture rearranging! ;-)

The buds are striped, Y'd 2 years ago. In a large container. All mine are here in Z9. My sanguinea has not done didley. ;-(... one battle at a time.
