I wanted to share this moment with everyone. This plant started blooming in July of this year. I think this may be the last time for this yearfor it to bloom. The fragrant was so wonderful.. I received this plant as a Christmas present from my DH last year. There was a lady selling this plant at a yard sale, and I didn't have the money at the time to buy it. Later , my DH went back and asked the lady if she sold it . She didn't , so my DH bought it for me. When I first saw it bloomed I admit I cried . She is my first epi.,but not my last. She will always be my favorite.

HI Ingrid,
I sent you a message via DG mail.

Rose,
She is a beauty! How old is the plant? I have one that was my mother's, probably 20 years old. It did not have many blooms this year. When I repotted it a few years ago (quite a chore), I put it in a bigger pot. It has never bloomed as well since then. I know they need to be root bound to bloom well.
Thanks for sharing. Shirley
Shirley,
This December will be one year for me. I don't know how old it was before me. It has grown allot since I have receive it. I can't get enough epiphyllum. I use time release food on mine , and occasional liquid feedings. It stays on my back deck all year long. . I only take it in the garage when it get really low temps ( which is rare), and on cool night I cover it with bed sheets. I am not looking forward to repotting her either...lol
Thanks for your comments . Patti
