Good morning, Kell
Great bloom. I have a question. I am new to brugs. The one that I have, Pink Frosty, the blooms tend to go outward. Do some varieties hang straight down? They appear too.

Teresa -- welcome to the brug forum! To jump right in and answer your question, yes -- some do hang straight down. There are several cultivars that bloom in that position, and the one that probably comes to most peoples minds first, are the Versicolors. Brugs blooms, depending on the variety or cultivar can be set in any position from pointing up to straight down. Hope that's helpful :) Gretchen

Kell, it is a beautiful bloom. Where is this one hiding? Your place, a friends, or the church lot? I'm planning a raid soon and I need blueprints of where to head first.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Need any help, Shirley? LOL I'm volunteering to help you raid the Brug patch.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

THANKS ALL!

WELCOME Teresa to the brug forum. This brug is hanging funny because it is a crotch bloom and is so big it does not fit where it is. It is too close to the trunks. And one side is being squished.

Brugs come in all ways I am just learning. I am constantly amazed by the variety you can get. I wish I had started this years ago. Luckily for us, Monika actually knows what she is doing and shares her experience with us all. Every year is better than the year before as far as what new ones are developed. Next year will be a stunner with the double pinks. I can't wait to use this pollen on a few of those! Be still my pink heart!!

Yes Deb, it is a seeding and it is my own seedling! LOL LOL I am in love. And I keep wondering if it is so dark in October, what will it look like in the summer???

This poor bloom lived thru a terrible rain storm and still looked this good!

I just got out my pencil and added another one to my list for the future, Kell. Wow, you've gotten some beauties this year. How far is your house from LA? My son lives there, and I want to give him directions. Since it'll be dark when he gets there to do his work, I need specifics. LOL

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Beautiful kell...just the way I like them, with the calyx hugging the bloom!
Welcome Theresa...good to have you at DG!
I think I live the closest to kell...so if there are any directions given to her bounty, please be sure to give them to me, too. I promise I will share!!!
