I waited and waited for Rosamund to show me something pink and pretty this summer..... but she just kept holding out. But I forgave her and brought her inside before our frost. And today....she greeted me with these pretty pink flowers. Too bad she is stuck in a gloomy basement where nobody is around to appreciate her beautiful blossoms.
Basement Blossoms
That's neat -- do you have her under lights, or in a window?
Renee.....so pretty! I have Rosamond with buds growing bigger and bigger! I'm xing my fingers that I see them before frost! How is the fragrance?
Renee...can't you bring her up-stairs for a few days? That is what I did when I had a pretty open one evening & had company! Nice fragrance in the house too!
They are beautiful!! You have had the best luck with your Sangs! How does Rosamond smell? Is she strong?
Great basement Brugs, Renee.
WTG Renee ... they are beautiful. The leaves look so cool on the sang. You did good!!
Renee, she is beautiful. I am impatiently waiting for mine to bloom out.
Patricia
Congrats Renee!
Wonderful looking plants! In a basement?? WOW!
Hey Renee, can I camp in your basement until Feb? I got 5 new 'naner pups that would love it there.
*grin*
Thanks all.... Mr DH just brought her up. She has almost no fragrance right now. I am hoping this move will help with that. At least she isn't sitting under that strong light.
Yep Shelly........ I have to agree with you about the' luck' thing. I've tried to grow sangs many times only to be disappointed. It is amazing how different the color is on today's flower when I compare it to the ones that bloomed outside this summer. Brugie sent some Arborea pollen last month so now I'm going for the Big One. I would be tickled to death if I got so lucky to get a pod and then a Flava. Please keep your fingers crossed for me?????
EDIT: Sure Scoot..... bring 'em over. I'm sure we could find a spot for your little pups. You sure you want to camp down there??? Just kidding. One other thought....what on earth would we do with Mr Scooterbug? (grin)

Hi Renee,
Bet you are happy seeing these bloom for you, I have so many with buds, sure hope they hurry before the frost hits.
Glad you got Ms. Rosamund moved upstairs Renee.and hope she "smells" up the room for ya'll soon. You did good....Ms. Sang is just beautiful! Too bad it's too hot here for sangs. Love the bloom and foliage.
Jean
Oooh! Fingers crossed for sure! That would be wonderful!
Gee, my Rosamonds never have a fragrance. Have I been cheated? LOL
Your sang looks better than mine, what huge leaves. My sang leaves are always on the smaller side!
Beautiful Renee. Glad you are having blooms even though they are inside. Rosamond is such a beautiful flower and so is your sang.
renee, Your flower is beautiful girlfriend!!!
Renee, I've got my fingers and toes crossed for your cross. I hope it takes. Best of luck.
Well....so far...so good. The arborea pollen is on the sang stamen...Hope it took???? The tip of the stamen turned brownish about 2 hours after the pollen application. I guess its out of my hands for now. Thanks to all you guys for your well wishes.
Kell...There is fragrance now that the thing is out of the bright light. It smells somewhat unusual to me. It reminds me of like that almond stuff. What's it called ? Marzipan?? That can't be spelled right. It is not real intense either...its just there... if you put your nose close to the flowers.
ADA...Did you get to your mailbox ???

Renee, your Rosamond is very pretty. The flowers in the basement prolong the vegetation period. For that reason, I save branches with buds, when I have to cut back and move them into the winterhouse.
What a great way to extend the summer, Monika. I could pinch myself when I think of all the budded branches I tossed on the compost pile a few weeks ago. (duh)
Renee, you have mail.
