Withdrawals...........

Seattle Burbs, WA(Zone 8b)

October!! How in the heck did October get here?

Well, I guess that means an official 'end' to plant trading season for me. I just finished up my last trades and as it gets chilly..........I'm already in withdrawal!!!! What?!!!!!!!!!!! No plants waiting for me in my beloved post office box.! I just wanna cry! Whaaaaaah!!!

LOL. Who else is gonna have mail box withdrawal?

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

Me :( I sent my last planned trade out last Friday. I'm hoping to get a start of a hardy geranium yet this season, but other than that it will have to be just seed trades and SASEs. :-(
Oh how will I survive....how will any of us survive the cold harsh evil Winter???

How ya been Sue?

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

I could send you guys some purple coneflower seeds, if you're desperate (it's all I have that I've figured out how to get seeds from, so far.) I just hate to see people suffer! ;-)

Marc! I'm doin great, my friend! And you??

I just love to get the plants in the mail, then watching them grow. My friends comment, "that was from Ohio?" or "That was from Florida?", then "couldn't you just BUY them? Which is always the one question I LOVE! I always say, "No way could I just BUY them!" If I could count on one hand (which I can't) how far ahead I am with plant trading...............

And you could have not said it better: Cold, Harsh, Evil Winter! LOLOL!!

...................................................(meanwhile I'm working hard on my seed trade list!)

Mary - you and I posted at the same time. :-)

Thanks Mary....I'll keep you in mind come February when Seed trading swings into high gear around here. :-)

Sue! Glad to see your hanging around here this afternoon like myself (should be working, but I'm not)
My partner is like your friends'......"What did you get now???" "Don't they sell that down at the nursery?"
Just doesn;t understand it's much more special when you know it came from someone's garden, and sent to you with love. :-)
Hang in there lady, Spring is only 4 1/2 months away....sort of...........................

I feel your pain, I walked through Lowes yesterday and wanted to buy petunias, they had some beautiful petunias, marked down to .10 a six pack. But then I said to myself, "Self ,it is the END of Oct, you know those poor little petunias would not have a chance. You will only get to watch them be burned by the frost soon. Now self, even if it is only a dime you know how it will hurt you to watch them pass on. You will sepnd a couple of hours planting them here and there and then just watch them die" So I sadly walked away. Today I woke up to rain and leaves blowing everywhere, soon Jack Frost will visit. It is so sad to see summer come to an end, I guess I will just have to garden on the "net" for the next few months.

Kim, glad to see I'm not alone. That was my dining room this past winter and I, too, promised the family not to do it again...grant me the strength...
