Had this plant for over a year and it finally bloomed. This is one of my favorites......the leaves always caught my eye but the flower is just stunning.
Thanks
Ric
My one and only Hoya caudata bloom.
It is beautiful Ric! I have read here & there that this species has a habit of doing that (blooming just one flower at a time with long intervals in between).
I like that one too, but find it a strange one. It seems almost "cycad" like with it's hard stiff leaves, and mine is rather touchy as to water (likes it on the dry side). It does seem to prefer some sun too and gets red leaves when in it for long. Some people don't care for this one, so I guess it is a matter of taste for the unusual that makes me like it.
Congrats on the bloom, I have yet to experience that.

I finally found a "sweet spot" for mine and it seems happy - but I have lost quite a few. I have learned that H. caudata needs air circulation...not a draft or a fan, just good air circulation...
Good closeup of a beautiful plant. One of my favorites, too. I love the coloration and texture of the leaves.
Hi Ric,
Check you mail with DG.

Hi Ric,
Just beautiful,My plant has been putting out new leaves since I started ignoring it.I will wait a year to see these blooms it is worth it!!!
Dianne
There are two forms of this one I found out. One has some hairs visiable to the eye on the top surface of the leaf. I have not seen it in flower yet. Thank you.
I love mine even without the flowers, I'll watch for them, and I hope soon I will be able to report mine is in flower as well. It's a beauty and congrats, for flowering the plant. Norma
Ric, I welcome you, It's just about time you got here. I missed you, keep in touch. Norma
You got the magic touch, Ric!
My H. caudata was given to me by Lesli and the plant is beautiful and has grown like crazy. I have yet to get a bloom on it, but, I am hopeful!
It does tend to go through growing phases, but for the most part, it is a happy plant and one of my favorites!
Thanks to all for the warm welcome and the kind comments. Its nice to be here, I have had pleasant experiences with most of you and look foward sharing ideas and plants in the future.
Ric
