She's SO cute, and the bamboo reminds me when I was going thru the Bamboo Forest on Hana, Hawaii!!!!

I live in the italian riviera and am in an area of very frequent landslide I used several Phyllostachys species including the edulia , the bambusoides, both green and sulfurea. I let them invade every corner of my small garden in order to prevent my walls to collaps. All the best to your daughter, wishing her to become a flora and fauna enthusiast . It helps to remaining optimistics.

That's a really good idea, and very ecologically-oriented. A natural solution, as opposed to reinforcing the walls with steel or whatever.

oldrelics, I still can't get over your picture...it looks like an environment from another planet to me. Good thing your cute little girl is in the picture to bring it back to earth :-) Thanks again for posting it. We're so lucky to be able to see personal photos of each other's plants.

well hi, what a pic. i have the chineese bamboo, gets bushy. where did u get the bamboo?. with all the hurricanes this past summer-- that would be an ideal plant to help w/ erosion here in fla. i to am from alabama. st. clair county. thanks, marilynne
