someone has some seeds and say they will make lilies. i have never tried to get a lily from seeds so does anyone know if there is truth to this?? i always thought if its a bulb then seeds are sterile. thanks

They grow easily. I often lay a seed (they are about an inch across) on a pot and keep it moist. A large root comes out and finds its way down into th e soil. There it produces a bulb and leaves. Unfortunately many of mine turn out to be albino and so after the food in the seed is used up the plant withers.

Glad this thread is here. All of my lilies are forming
seed heads and I wondered if they were dependably
viable.

:-)

P.S. I realize I dragged this one out of the closet from
a few years ago.

Viable, but many of mine are albino, thus they will eventually fail.
