Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

Wow Kim,

Good job on growing the cannas from seed! Which canna is that? If they are 7 foot tall its probably Intrigue.

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

its not Intrigue. the leaves on this one are too wide.Intrigue. has more slender leaves.looks more like Robert Kemp ..What color were the blooms KIm ? Might even be red stripe...

(Zone 7a)

Daisy and Elva, I would really appreciate it if you can help me identify the species. These leaves are huge...Ok I just went outside with the measuring tape. They are 8 feet tall at the highest point (flowers) The leaves measured exactly 2 feet long and 1 foot wide. The flowers are more orange then red. I also have a green leafed one...gonna go take a picture..These were 2 seedlings and have taking over too. I started them in April..Be right back.

Smiln32...I really want to say yes...But for some reason I don't think so. The leaves are just about the same but The flowers are different. I could be wrong..But one has a new flower stalk about to open anyday. I'll take a pic and maybe you can tell...

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Since it came from seed, it is probably not any named variety. It may be the offspring of a named variety, but the seeds don't necessarily produce plants identical to the parents. I have germinated seeds from "Technicolor" (striped leaves) and about half of the offspring had striped leaves and the other half had regular green leaves.

WOW, I got my package yesterday. Those things are huge. I was so surprised. I've bought some
cannas before and they weren't NEAR the size of these things.
Thank you so much Kim!
Gina
