These came from 1 little seed this year. They are taking over like the weeds..I just thought I would move one...But the Bulbs keep popping out the ground! Leaves are purple and flowers are reddish/orange.
HELP!!! Somebody take my Cannas...See Pics
And they're a million feet tall! :-0
SASE

Did I get in on this one? IF so, how much postage to send? Thanks Janet
Janet..I think $3.85 stamp should do it :-D
Kim
Mailing out tomorrow...Thanks Janet
Wow Kim,
Good job on growing the cannas from seed! Which canna is that? If they are 7 foot tall its probably Intrigue.
its not Intrigue. the leaves on this one are too wide.Intrigue. has more slender leaves.looks more like Robert Kemp ..What color were the blooms KIm ? Might even be red stripe...
Daisy and Elva, I would really appreciate it if you can help me identify the species. These leaves are huge...Ok I just went outside with the measuring tape. They are 8 feet tall at the highest point (flowers) The leaves measured exactly 2 feet long and 1 foot wide. The flowers are more orange then red. I also have a green leafed one...gonna go take a picture..These were 2 seedlings and have taking over too. I started them in April..Be right back.

Look on the Plants Database at Canna "Intrigue"

Is that it?
I would love to get in on these if you have any left, just let me know.ps, they are beautiful!
Smiln32...I really want to say yes...But for some reason I don't think so. The leaves are just about the same but The flowers are different. I could be wrong..But one has a new flower stalk about to open anyday. I'll take a pic and maybe you can tell...
Kim if you have any left I would love to have some.
Me too, I would love some if you have any left! Annie
Gee, I would love to have some.
Joanie
After I get everyones Postage...I'll contact the next in line if any left :-D
Since it came from seed, it is probably not any named variety. It may be the offspring of a named variety, but the seeds don't necessarily produce plants identical to the parents. I have germinated seeds from "Technicolor" (striped leaves) and about half of the offspring had striped leaves and the other half had regular green leaves.
Great! You are very welcome
Kim,
Thank you for sharing your canna, and butterfly bush cuttings with me. You have a very big heart. Thank you very much I really do appreciate them.
