That is too cute! I didn't know those guys could survive your winter.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

I guess they must hibernate. My garden is loaded with all kinds of lizards, toads, frogs, and uh...snakes. And these little guys just love lounging on the brugs!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

They are cute, but not one of my favorite critters. LOL!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Our yard is absolutely full of these lizards, and I see them all Winter long. The strange thing is that our front yard has a different variety than our back yard. lol

St. Paul, MN(Zone 4b)

What a great picture! Thank you for posting it.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

I wish we had them here! I love to watch them. Mini haven't you heard? Those back yard lizzards are from the wrong side of the tracks. LOL....

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I wish they were here too
I tried to bring one home from Georgia and my DH wouldn't let me
Next time I'm down south I'm bringing some home....

cute picture!!!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Great picture, Gretchen. I've only seen two lizards this year but I have loads of frogs/toads. I noticed this evening a big pile of soil behind some potted plants in the garage so I've got to check it in the morning and make sure there's soil on the roots. I wish they'd leave my place. LOL I just swept the garage out two days ago so they've been busy digging.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Neat picture, Gretchen. Do you know what kind of lizard this is? I would think it's good to have them around, to keep the bugs in check.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What a great pic!! We don't have any around here either. I wonder why.

Hey CC, I do not think they ski.

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Nice picture.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Now I know what the integration problem is, datdog. Thanks for clueing me in. lol

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I have hundreds of them and the green sticky frogs. They love getting up in the brugs. Great pic Gretchen

Donna -- I have the little green frogs too. They are so ugly they're cute!

The lizard is an Anole:

I saw one in the house a couple of days ago -- ugh -- they're cute, but only in the garden. Anyway, it disappeared before we could capture it, and I forgot all about it. He resurfaced in a window tonight, trying desperately to get out. Luckily DH captured him and set him free in the garden. I'm sure he was elated!

I definitely think they help with the bug population.

Sylvia -- I have different lizards in different parts of my garden too, so don't feel alone :)

I think they should both be in the photo contest here.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

I agree - great photos!

Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

Really, really neat pictures!

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Now I'm jealous! I love those green frogs.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Gretchen, that little green frog is so cute. I haven't seen a frog since we moved back to town. We had a couple of different kinds when we lived in the country, but guess they don't like city life. lol

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Lovely photos, Gretchen. The wonders of nature are really great, aren't they?!!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

We also have lizards, frogs and toads, They keep the bug and fly population short and large toads even eat mice.
Gretchen, I think, your lizard knows, where to catch the fattest bugs lol!

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Thank you all! And yes, I really think they help with the bug, and yes...LOL they kknow which plants have the most!!!
