I'm looking for a source of grown or large palm trees (in this area) and any information from someone growing them in 9a.
Can you help me? I am very serious on putting some in the back acre of my yard.
palm trees/9a
I don't know of anyone in your area but I know I live on the border of 8-b and 9-a and the Palms that do well here are Queen Palms (my favorite) fan palms of the washingtonia family, Windmill palms, Canary island date palms (very expensive if they are already tall plants). Of those I would say the Queens are your best bet for transplantable larger ones. Check the plant datatbase and see if you like them. I would also check with PalmBob as he is knowledgeable on Palms and cycads.
Good Luck, George aka Jester.
