Sea Poppy, Horned Poppy, Orange Horned Poppy (Glaucium flavum f. fulvum)

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Dear KMAC,

Someone left a note at the helpdesk that we have two Glaucium flavum entries. The one connected to this gorgeous picture is the duplicate, but I'm wondering if this is truly G. flavum or perhaps G. corniculatum, which is more of a red-orange color? (I noticed you posted an image of the more typical yellow flowers to the other G. flavum entry here: http://davesgarden.com/pdb/showimage/57177/ (which made me further think that these other may well be a different species.

Any thoughts before we shuffle and move things around? Love the foliage, whatever it is!

Warm regards,
Terry

Hi Terry,

This burnt orange one is Glaucium flavum var. fulvum. I got the original plant from Beth Chatto.
I love the brilliant colour of the flowers and the silver grey leaves.
Sorry if I've caused any confusion.

Best wishes,
KMAC
