It is a beautiful day here!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Rosamond is putting on a show. I love it when I have colorful, little garden vignettes in my yard. The weather here is really holding. We have not had any rain that I remember since last April I think.

PS that is a real sky. LOL

Beautiful, Kell. I wish I could have sent you some of our rains this year. It's supposed to get down to forty tonight. I hate to see winter come.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

So pretty! We're having that kind of day here, too...but I don't have anything blooming at the moment -- just lots of buds... It was 47 when I awakened this morning!!! But its in the 80's this afternoon and supposed to stay warm for the next week to ten days.

Thanks for the pic, Kell!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

All your pictures are always beautiful, Kell. You really have an eye for arranging your plants.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Great picture Kell. Wish I could send you some rain and you could send some heat. Guess it doesn't matter here now since everything is toast from the frost anyway. As always..I love your pictures.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

What a great photo Kell! Everything is soooooo beautiful!!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Kell, Gretchen, our day was ever bit as beautiful as yours today. Not sure about you, but we deserved it, LOL, after 9 inches of rain in two days, followed by a whipping wind storm, we were blessed with total beauty and comfort today...

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

As always, your Brugs are gorgeous and the picture of your garden is so beautiful!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

We had an incredible day here too. Started out on the chilly side but warmed up nicely.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Donna, just wondering, what is the 'chilly side' in Ocean Springs?? My FL pal considers anything under 80 chilly...is it like that with you???

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

it was 46 but was I fine running around in shorts unloading my haul from Kays yesterday lol

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Pretty picture Kell. Our weather has been beautiful for the past couple of days and I sure am enjoying it. . . very low humidity and not above 80 mid-day.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh you do not need to send me any rain Brugie. LOL. Rain means winter around here. Our weather is so unlike yours.

Here no rain from about April thru to November. And I mean NONE at all!! The hills that surround the bay area all brown out late spring and all summer. And then we get lots of rain all winter, mostly December, January and February. The hills then come alive with the sound of winter, and turn a great green.

Of course the years we have droughts, you can send me some then! LOL

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I could send you some snow Kell.

Syracuse, NY

Kell i gladly send you some rain we had over 12 inches in july, 8 inches in august. it rained hard last night but at least it is not snow yet. Very pretty picture. Bob

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Monika -- you are already getting snow??? Hearing that makes me all the more glad I live where I do! I hope you're staying toasty warm :) Gretchen

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

For a weekend it would be so cool Monika!!! In more ways than one!! LOL

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It has snowed here yesterday Gretchen. The snow came in with thunder and lightning. The temperatures are supposed to rise again on Wednesday up to 20°C.
Crazy, isnt it!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, Monika. It sure has been a crazy year for weather. I sure hope next year is better for all of us.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Yes, it is indeed! That must've been interesting to have snow with thunder and lightning. I don't recall ever seeing that combination before. I always think of snow being peaceful and quiet LOL!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

In Iowa we once in a while get what they call thunder snow. It is usually not a heavy snow though. Blizzards are not very quiet here. They come in with such wind that the whole house feels like it is moving around. LOL! I'm sure it is just my imagination, but it gets pretty wicked outside.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

We even have thunder and lightning in the winter Gretchen. Often, snowstorms come in with it. The drop of temperatures within a few minutes is amazing.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'd love to have a glass room so I could sit out there and watch the weather overhead. Anyone got an extra 20 thou? LOL! Kell, I have to keep watching this thread. That picture at the top is beautiful. I so need some of your color right now. Everything is looking so dead.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

LOL Shirley, do you think it will only be 20K? I'm afraid to check prices! LOL Oh how I wish! And Kell....I do love your pic!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I already have the foundation and cement floor. Would just need the glass work and some more insulation around the edges. I just don't think it would be a good investment until we move to town. It would never increase the value of the house that much.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

It's beautiful kell... Your fall is much prettier then mine. We just look drab out there. Not my favorite time of the year.

Oh Kristi, that is not true! LOL. I just saw some great pics of your yard!

Here is one looking out from my front porch (and computer rom window) into the courtyard and garden on to the other side. I wish I had a better camera.

Too bad the Big Yella and True Love brugs in the center, both are full of buds, have not opened yet!

Kell, what is that plant in the back of the picture that has the rosey colored plumes on it?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I have 2 crape myrtles out there Brugie. I bought them without checking on their size. I got 2 Tuscaroras. One is a standard which is great, I can underplant it. But the other is a bush. The bush, though I severely prune it every fall, is now as tall as the standard, and even broader! Tom hates it but it sure is hard to beat for color!

Did you see the vine going up the every green by the fence? I can't think of the name. It is the yellow flowered one with black centers. Here they are evergreen and perennial.

Kell -- how do you ever make yourself go inside? Just spectacular!

Is it Thunbergia (Black-Eyed Susan Vine)?

http://davesgarden.com/pdb/go/248/index.html

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Sure looks like Thunbergia to me too. Watch them for seed unless they are the hybrids that don't produce much if any. You could have a jungle of vines next year. If that is the lemon yellow one, I've never found seed on mine.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Kell, you composed a beautiful photo. What is the pink flower at lower left. It is raining here, the most rain we have had I think this whole summer. Rained most of the night and still raining a nice rain that is mostly soaking into our parched earth. In this desert area we love every drop of rain. Donna

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Your yard always brings a smile to my face. It's so beautiful.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks Donna and Kristi! Late this afternoon it poured!! I hope it does not get cold and gloomy now!

It is a pink hibiscus. It has grown so much this year it is halfway out into the walkway. As soon as winter comes to an end I am going to move it.
