Wow! Monika :D It is beautiful. It is almost like seeing an aurea as a double :) I have a few pods myself on B. x candida 'Enchanted Double White' x 'Goldenes Kornett' and one with x 'EP'. The 'Goldenes Kornett' cross won't probably be as beautiful as your hybrid and probably all be white, but I put my trust in backcrossing the doubles to 'Goldenes Kornett' for better color or to cross (EDW x GK) x (EDW x EP) in the hope that EP in the mix will help the color of GK to shine through. But that has long terms LOL Until then I will enjoy all the beauties, that you have made :)

BTW. Monika, 'Tutu' seem to have a habit of loosing the pods premature. Is there a trick, that will make her keep them?

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Beautiful Monika......it would not take much for this one to be orange. With warmer weather could it get more orange?

Tonny, you have to pollinate TuTu in early summer. This is the best time. However, TuTu is very sensitive to Virus and when the climate conditions doesnt suit her, she will drop the pods . You should keep her in the wintergarten all summer if you want to use her for breeding.
I dont know, if the color of the seedlings blooms can become deeper and brighter as it already is. I like it the way it is.

A whole tree of these would be so beautiful!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I love it!! Not white..like mine all turn out..... **SIGH** LOL

Oh, but Monika, I meant the possible color of the babies in the seedpods of my Enchanted Double White probably would not be super.

I love the color in yours. Let there be no doubt about that. It is from the pictures to deem one of the best double golden in my taste and beats most of the yellow doubles as well.

Thanks for your advice on keeping Tutu inside. I will mind that in the future :)

Hubbard, OR(Zone 8a)

Great brug Monika, I love the bold color.

Tonny, you made a yellow x pink cross. The offspring of those, crossed to a white, will mostly produce white again.
For example, in 1987, I pollinated CG x Rosa Traum. The offspring was all white. I crossed one of the whites, Sommertraum, back to its parent CG. The result were 59 white suaveolens and one yellow versicolor type Multihybrid. I named it Goldrausch. Unfortunately, Goldrausch is sterile. I have made since several other crosses of this type and all of them have ended with the same result. White is the dominating color.
I have crossed Ocre x USA Orange and even their offspring was all white. I guess, they had at least one white parent each.

Yes LOL I guess I made a few yellow x pink. One was EP x Goldenes Kornett. Enchanted Double White, that I also used as mother was pollinated with EP and Goldenes Kornett as well, but I have little hopes, that at least the cross with Goldenes Kornett will give a few colored hybrids. The hope come from seeing how the double flowers got peach/ orange strikes along the veins and tendrils, when getting old. So, my hope is that golden meets golden, but I don't know, what to expect from the pollination with EP. Is EP an genuinde pink (pink dominant/ pink recessive)? Monika, what are your experiences using EP and Goldenes Kornett with Brugmansia hybrids of other colors?

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

If you want white ones....just ask me!!!LOL

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

EP is not a true Pink. When used for pollinator on a white colored motherplant, you will receive only white ones. You may expect a few yellow ones, when Goldenes Kornett is the mother plant. The question is: is yours the real Goldenes Kornett? If not, it may be the product of Multihybrids. Then you dont know if it is a true yellow. The pure wildform of Goldenes Kornett was a very shy bloomer and so was Rosa Kornett.

Another Beauty !!

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Monika -- I have a question about my VA X EP seedling...The first time it bloomed the flowers were pure white. The second time it bloomed, they started out white but turned pale peach the second day. Its getting ready to bloom again, and I'll be anxious to see what they look like. My question -- is the peach hue considered yellow? 255,227,213 on the color chart. Thank you :) Gretchen

Gretchen, the turn into peach is the sign for the versicolor influence in the hybrid. You may intensify the color of the offspring by pollinating her with a peach versicolor. Unfortunately, EP inherits mostly whites, when used as a pollinator for white or peach colored mother plants.

Thank you, Monika! I'm learning little by little...
