That's neat!

How stunningly beautiful! I've never tried to grow passaflora before; didn't think they'd survive our zone, but I guess they do! Unless you're "cheatnig" and using a greenhouse ...

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Ceedub,These have been outside all summer, and yes I brought them into a greenhouse, but only after they had flower buds on them.
But I do grow several others that made it over the wqinter with a little straw protection.
Cala,Neat was the way I said it too!!!

Oh my, another on my "must try" list ... Thanks Tropicman!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Thanks you'll love its fragrance too!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

tropicman,
what are you doing in there with that brush? your not "cross" pollinating are you? now you leave that flower alone. doesn't she have enough problems without a brush coming along and tickling her ovaries? ;-) he he ha ha just kidding you know?
debi z and franklin too

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

LOL!Man did that put a big smile on my face!!! Pollinating, sex is all you women got on your mind!!!LOL!
Really thats a powdered asprin on that brush, helping to relieve the headache after giving that birth to twins!!LOL

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

That is neat, Don. I hope you get some fruit from her. By the way, I think I was mistaken when I said that my P. platyloba has buds. It's my P. amethystina that has buds on her. The two vines are intertwined so I had to figure out which was which. Did you ever get a P. amethystina from me? The flowers look a lot like P. Blue Bouquet. If you did get one from me, it should be starting to flower about now.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Hi Clare,
I never could find one,it has big leaves right?
All my blue flowers has leaves like a caerula.
Is its fragrance the same as blue bouquet as well?

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

tropicman, i don't know any woman who has had sex on the brain after giving birth. just the opposite. LOL

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Hi Don. Yes, it has three-lobed fat leaves which are blue green, and the flowers look just like P. "Blue Bouquet." Unfortunately, there is no fragrance at all on this one. I think it is a hard one to root which is probably why the cuttings didn't take.

Floresville, TX(Zone 9a)

That's an amazing flower! I've never seen anything like it before... hope the pollination takes:-)

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

how cool is that|??

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Hi Deb-z,
Well there thinking,What was I thinking having sex, knowing what the end result could be,feeding every 3 hours, diaper changing every hour,no sleep
Ah! no sex for at least a couple months!!!!!LOL!
Sorry Clare,I don't see any with tri fat leaves,Funny how some root easy and some don't,same with germinating seeds too, you'd think all in the same family, wouldn't be a problem!!!
Indigoez,Me too,Hope to see 2 fruits!!!
Pebbles,yet neato!!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

dear tropicman, i think the problem was that you "were not thinking", or with the wrong brain, as they say.....not that i understand what "they" are saying or anything. but "they" do say it, so i thought i would include it here in this post, just in case "you" understood what "they" meant.
yuck yuck juckle juckle smirk,
debi z and franklin

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Thanks Clare

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

LOL

San Diego, CA

Clare, OK, I did a little back reading. You mentioned that you had thought, in error that your platyloba had buds on it, does this mean you've never seen it bloom? You'll be in for a nice suprise when it does. Your vine will have hanging pods (enlarged bracts), all over it when it gets big. Mine is about 20 feet now and had a couple of hundred flowers this year. I'll try to take a picture tonight and see if I can figure out how to post a pic to this forum.
Mark

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Mark. Yes, mine hasn't bloomed yet, but it is growing quickly. I would love to see a picture of yours.
