A lady I went to church with in Tennessee has built a greenhouse. Some people have asked her to keep ferns and other plants over the winter, water them, keep them warm and etc. She has no idea how much to charge for this service. Does anyone here do that kind of "plant babysitting" in the winter? How much do you charge?
Question for a friend
Cala -- there is a lady here (DG) that does that. I'll have to do some searching to find her thread, but I believe its here in the Greenhouse forum. Gretchen

Its Anna_Z and she charges $20.00 per plant for the entire winter. Hope that helps :)
This might be bad but I offered to do it for free for plants that I don't have with the agreement that I could take cuttings and such. I think everyone is happy. Joelle
if i had the room i wouldnt charge....but i sure dont have the room....lol

These are ferns, so kind of hard to take cuttings, but I guess she could get some starts from it. I think she is charging to help pay for heat, water, fertilize and stuff. When we had the garden center in TN, I kept a few plants for regular customers. Most were heirloom plants that they didn't want to lose but didn't have room inside to keep.
Thanks guys. I'll send an email and let her know what I found.
