I just wanted to take the time to let everyone know what a wonderful Aunt I have. Yesturday, I discovered that one of my ferals had decided to stop caring for her kitten. The poor thing was wandering aimlessly around in the back yard all day, while the mother just watched without doing anything. I kept going out there and trying to get her to care for it, but she wouldn't. When I went out there and saw that flies were buzzing around it, that was the last straw. I was trying to give her every opportunity I could before taking her baby, but she obviously no longer wanted it.
I brought it in the house and tried to feed it some of that NurseMaid milk replacement, but it wouldn't eat for me. Finally, out of desparation, I called my Aunt. She lives in the country, and has bottle fed many orphaned and abandoned kittens, so I knew she'd know what to do. She came over and got the kitten, and took it home with her. She was my angel yesterday, and I just wanted to world to know what a great person she is. I'm hoping to trap this mama cat, and have her spayed as soon as I can. This is her second litter, and she doesn't have very healthy kittens. She was a great little mama to the first litter, but lost them anyway. Maybe there's something wrong with this one to make her stop caring for it. I just don't know, but I'm hoping and praying that next time we trap, she walk it there so we can have her fixed, and not have to lose anymore babies. This was the last kitten in this litter. Hopefully my Aunt can help it.
