Most of you know that we have added a new addition to our family. Stubby came to us via my Mom-in-law in Ark. He had been attacked by a dog or coyote or something and ended up losing all but 3 inches of his tail and has a pin in his leg for a broken femur. Well - he's been in a lot of pain and at almost 4 weeks post-op - he's not using the leg. So - we took him to an ortho specialist today and he's going to have to have repair surgery tomorrow. Apparently the way it was "fixed"- the bone is spinning around the axis of the pin and the pain he's been in is like the leg re-breaking all over again when he gets is twisted or out of alignment. It will not heal this way - and so we really have no choice. As you can see from his pic - he's a real cutie - but he's been through a lot. Please keep him and us in your thoughts as he starts on the next phase of this journey.
