Hi all,
Our church is having a bake sale this friday and I've been wanting to make some homemade dog biscuits & cookies for Aggie. So then it got me thinking of making some for the bake sale too. Alot of people have dogs & may appreciate some homemade goodies for them. I always hear atleast a person or two complaining they don't need all those sweets. Now they'll have a different kind of goodie to buy.
I plan on making some peanut butter (biscuits) cookies, dog bone biscuits, & canine carrot cookies. The peanut butter got me thinking if it was ok to give to dogs so I decided to do some checking on the web. Then I came across this website; http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=2&cat=1661&articleid=1030 They list onion & GARLIC as being toxic for dogs. Am I mistaken? don't they sell garlic tabs for dogs to supposedly keep fleas away? It seems peanut butter is alright and I only planned on using 3 Tbsp for the recipe. Just was a bit puzzled by the garlic info. Has anyone else heard of this? I'm getting nervous now about adding it as the recipe calls for fresh garlic minced. TIA,
Gemila
