They love the sages. I have a male living in my 10 footer. He hides in the middle of it and waits for intruders to be so bold as to dine on HIS bush. What a fine looking fellow. Are yours picking sections of the yard as "theirs" for the winter. Mine seem to have staked them our more seriously than during the summer.

You might find stuff at Annie's Annuals . Here in town there are 5 or so places. I saw Dark Dancer (s. greggii) at Home Depot yesterday. I usually buy from nurseries. They have a more varied stock.
Hummers get positively fierce defending their ownership rights of a salvia bush. Startling. LOL
