Giorio, normally re-potting is done in the Spring.
It can be done now if you want to, but bear in mind that the plants are going into their dormancy and may not root up sufficiently before the cold weather starts, in which case they may rot.

Another question if I may, a while ago I saw a step by step intructions on how to repot lotuses...complete with pictures...I should have book marked the link, is there anybody that may direct me there?
I have done it in October but I also like spring better. Now, the lotus will have to be repotted when they are dormant-before they break dormancy. I plan to look at mine about mid Feb (I'm in zone 7a) so you will have more time.
