Getting Closer!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Two of my Brugs surprised me this morning. I had to take a second look to see if I was dreaming or not. Little whiskers are starting to stick out of some of the buds. After this happen, how long is it before I see the blooms?

Great news. Will be waiting for pictures. I know how exciting it is if you've never seen them bloom before.

I finally got out and took some pics of them "getting ready" to bloom. The 7 day forecast still predicts the lows around 40 so the weather has been good for them. (Highs have been between 65 & 75 degrees - very nice fall, knock on wood).

Here's one shot of the Isabella X

Here's a pic of the Suave X (the one I called Karyn Riggs, that suffered alot from spider mites). This one has many many buds, and there are three that have whiskers - the others are ready to pop as well.

Question on those Isabella X's up above, how close do you think they are?

I'm guessing that if you took the pictures today, they will begin to open either tonight or tomorrow night. I might depend on the temps though. Hope they are pretty ones for you.

I took the pics right before I posted them a few minutes ago! yeah!

Karrie, it is sure hard waiting for them to bloom out, but the anticipation is so exciting. All of my seedlings except for one have buds on them right now.

I have spidermites

lol CC - I think I have them under control now - and I spray any "new" webbing that appears with soap water, AS they appear. You're doing much better - just hang in there! :-)
