Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning farmers. Yesterday my neighbor and I went elderberry picking again, I'll be making them into juice today, a good rainy day activity. I have 4 buckets full, don't know how much juice it will make but I'm guessing about 12-15 pints. We mix it with apple juice because it is pretty strong by itself, a little of it goes a long way, so I have started canning it in pints. Yesterday was a great day to gather the berries since it was quite warm and windy, this front came in overnight and now we have rain with our wind and a good day for making juice.

The flower beds are getting cleaned up and parts of my yard are already looking better, slow but sure. It is a big job. I won't get any of that done today but the rain should soften up the ground a bit and make it easier when I do get back to it.

Here is yesterday's sunrise, if you look closely you can see a horse in the foreground.

Have a great day everyone, count your blessings.
