Have young Red Yucca (Hesperaloe parviflora) plants for trade (10- 15 plants / first come!). My Hummers can't get enough. Please email me if you are interested, love epiphyllums, hoyas, perennials....oh heck I love most things! Karen
Hummies love this
Karen what do they look like? I am zone 9 and I have everything else. Ok they are heat tolerant, perfect for me.I only have seeds though.
Hey Monterey,
Scooterbug loaded this pic last year. http://davesgarden.com/pdb/showimage/26705/
Cool plant, pointy grey leaves with curly threads along edges, red flowers like....
hmmmmm....
almost like a cross between Crocosmia/Phygelius/Heuchera on a tall (mine was 36") stalk. It would grow great there for you there. I have one in a large pot with perennial color. I'm zone 8-ish, couple of hours south of you.
What seeds have you collected?
karen
Kachinagirl,
I have never heard of this type of yucca but if it is hardy to zone 5 I'm interested! I have climbing hydrangea, daylilly Rosy Returns, Japanese Kerria pleniflora, or monarda in lavender, pink, or white. My plant are going dormant quickly, it is in the 40's here, so I hope there is still time to plant it.

Hi Cindy,
I don't know if it would be a good idea to send you one now. Big difference in climate....we're in the 80's during the day still, only dropping to 65-ish at nite. It isn't a true yucca, that's just the common name. I don't see why you couldn't grow it in a pot that you take into a sheltered area in winter tho. You could even stick the pot into the ground in your garden during the warmer part of your year, then yank it out, clean it off and put it somewhere a bit warmer. Well now............I just looked, and the PDB shows it will grow there, maybe it's hardier than I thought! Be happy to send you one!
I do not have many plants to spare as I'm trying to replace lawn with flowers & shrubs. However, I do have A. tuberosa (butterfly weed) seeds and a few Sedum autumn joy cuttings available. Email me if these interest you.
John
ed. to say, also some Tecoma stans seeds.

Thanks Karen,
please let me know what you would like me to send you. I have other things too, so if there is something you are looking for and I have it I'd be happy to trade.
