She is beautiful! Great picture!

Gorgeous!

Can't seem to get my PB or Rosamond to bloom, they are big plants, have been fert. all summer. Now, they are finally setting buds. Don't think it was warm enough here this summer for them. We never even hit 90 degrees this yr.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks! Oddly enough, mine did not take off until I moved it to the shade garden where it only gets morning sun. LOL

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Both interesting remarks, Hibiscus and Badseed. I think both PB and Rosamond could use more sun here and would bloom more frequently, but our highs were never more than 95 and only very few days that hot, plus we had lots of rain. Rosamond started out the heaviest bloomer and now PB is catching up and is covered in buds - something you've never heard me say often, she typed happily!! However, there is such a size difference in PB's buds that I don't think they will all pop at the same time, but I can handle a big, paced flush!! They have both been plagued with some bugs and treated, I was so afraid they would drop their buds, but not a single one was lost...

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

My Rosamond is a nice large plant but at last inspection, no buds. I did have problems with mites (all varieties - those that you could see and those that you could not see). It is in a shady spot with probably no more than 2 hrs sun/day (like most of my yard). Sure would love to see some blooms.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Mine is in the shade too and it has been loaded with flowers several times this year.
Badseed, that's a huge flower! Have you brought everything in yet? or have you still got a few weeks till frost?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Beautiful bloom Michele. Mine was slow starting. Just kept growing taller all the time. Topped out at about 8-9 ft. and then it bloomed like crazy.

To all of you, with regard to Rosamond/PB: were yours hold over brugs or from seed or rooting this year??? Mine is a 2004 rooting and was about 18 inches tall when I received her, as was PB, but a little shorter. I guess my question is, do they bloom better if they are older plants, or wintered inside or when they winter outside, or if they are rootings or from seed??? Or, is it just hit and miss??? Both of mine are about 6 feet tall and about 8 feet wide...I have branches that are 4 feet long on both, and many taller shoots, most unfortunately, are too crooked or short and already Yed, to make an alley tree, but after they flush, I'm potting up those that appear promising...

Holey Moley, Batman - that is a HUGE bloom. Badseed - is that typical of Rosemond or are you feeding it steroids?

Sherry, mine was a cutting of Rosamond that I got from Kell last fall. It had lots of shoots from the roots this year.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Both Pink Beauty and Rosamond have been good bloomers for me even with all our rains and they are in full sun. Pink Favorite also bloomed good.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Beautiful Chele mine bloomed all summer

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Chele, great to see you over here! Your pink is better than my pink. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Mine are in full sun and bloom all summer. Of course the temp here is usually about 70 to 74 degrees

Sherry, if they were from seed, they would not be Rosamond or Pink Beauty. They would be a cross. My huge one is in the ground and stayed there last winter. My other stays in the hoophouse over winter but does not get cut back some until spring..

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Ada, is your Pink Favorite smaller than Rosamond and Pink Beauty - I have these three planted together and PF is small, small leaves, close to the ground, and the other two are huge. PF does NOT attract bugs like the other two, despite being 'on the ground' and the other two are four feet taller, with few leaves on the ground.

Looks great BS!!

I think Rosamond is my favorite plant this summer. It has bloomed continuously for me!

Badseed, your Rosamond is beautiful. I am so excited because mine is loaded with buds now. Last month it had one bud and I was anxiously waiting for it to bloom out. I went out one morning and the wind had torn it to shreds. So I am just hoping it blooms out before anything happens to the new buds .

Brookhaven, PA(Zone 6b)

Sherry, Bob, Git!

I grew this as a standard. The y's are not too big, but when they are ready to cut, I will GLADLY send you cuttings.

I am in zone 6, maybe 7, not too sure.

Thanks for the compliments, but I just planted it. LOL I have enjoyed seeing other photos. Now that it has cooled off a lot, I amazed how much lighter the flower is. The size is still the same but it now looks more like a blushed white.
