Why aren't they blooming? I planted them them early this year..They have lots of foliage but NO blooms..boohoo. Did I do something wrong? They also have adequate sun.
Crocosmia Lucifer..Help?
They bloom in early to mid summer Kim.....I'm sure you'll get bloom next year now that they are established in their new home.
Ahhhh Man! LOL LOL Thanks rikerbear :-D
Your welcome Kim....sorry it wasn't the answer you wanted :-)
They're worth the wait!
Definitely! Hummingbird magnets they are...................
I can't wait! I just thought I had did something wrong. They seem to be pretty happy. I love red flowers :-D
Well you'll have to wait Kim....sorry :-)
Where did you buy them and when exactly did you plant them?
I got them in a trade..but they were in an unopened commercial type package. Like you would get tulips, daffs..etc. I planted them in good draining soil (kinda rich) and sunlight. Wrong?
They must have been from this year as last years would not have grown even leaves anymore. Unless you planted them in June or so, they should have flowered. If planted in late June, there still maybe some hope they flower soon. You then must be able to see a thickening from the bottom....you can feel it, just like with gladiolus. In these packages is a size that produces flowers.....maybe not all but at least 80% of them. Drainage is good and rich soil as well. Sunlight is a must. If there are no misformed leaves from aphids, then I give up and wait for next year. Do give them a blanket of mulch for the winter.
Mine did not bloom the first year - Bloomed the second year. George
Thanks! Good to know they will bloom eventually :-D
Only a few of my newly planted ones bloomed this year... and I was grateful because I didn;t expect any blooms.
I am so happy to find I wasn't the only one whose crocosmia did not bloom this year. It is good to know there is hope for next year.
