Dave's garden is a bit different from what I'm used to. I am in Parma Ohio and an absolute plant fanatic. In my real job I am Tree and Shrub care manager for a local lawn service, the rest of my waking hours are spent gardening. My gardens are not impressive, but I try to grow rare and very unusual plants. I have bog gardens with pitcher plants, sundews, venus fly traps (yes they're hardy here), a number of native orchids and as many rare and or unusual plants as I can possibly find.
I've also given lectures on bog gardening and growing and propagating native orchids. That's me sitting next to my bog with pitcher plants if full flower. I look forward to chatting with you and learning my way around DG.

Hi Fred
What makes you think rare and unusual is not impressive?
I volunteer at a demonstration garden in a state park. This summer we drained and relined our pond, and now we want to add some new and unusual things to the bog area. We've already got Showy Lady Slipper orchids growing in the area, some bog orchids would be a great addition.
Have you got some sources we can check out?
Shirley
